Metcha Set And Kit
The Japanese tea ceremony is divided into two major schools: the Matcha-do (Way of Matcha) and the Sencha-do (Way of Sencha). Among them, Matcha-do is the most representative and mainstream practice of the Japanese tea ceremony.
Matcha-do, also known as “The Way of Tea,” involves the use of powdered green tea. Its method of preparation evolved from the Song Dynasty “Dian Cha” techniques and involves whisking the powdered tea directly.
Matcha-do integrates daily life with religion, philosophy, ethics, and aesthetics, making it a comprehensive cultural and artistic activity. It is not merely about material enjoyment but primarily aims to cultivate one’s temperament, develop a sense of aesthetics, and foster moral values through tea gatherings and the study of tea etiquette.
